The
INF7 is the ultimate 6-digit multi-functional process indicator/
controller. Each unit can be easily configured via the front-panel
pushbuttons or optional serial communication boards, to be used
as a ratemeter/totalizer, batch controller, or real-time clock.
Rate may be displayed in engineering units. In addition, average
rate, which is a running average that works like a filter, is
selectable to help eliminate noise, yet does not introduce a long
delay for a step change in the input frequency response. With
the optional analog input board, the INF7 can be configured
to accept a signal, such as 4-20 mA dc, from any typical differential
flow transmitter and extract the square root of this signal, providing
a linear display in any engineering units desired. The INF7
can also be programmed as a single input batch controller. It
can simultaneously count the batch, number of batches completed,
and the grand total of pulses received. In addition, it has an
internal timer for process time measurement displayed in HH MM
SS format.
RATE METER/TOTALIZER ("R") The INF7 can be configured, via the front-panel pushbuttons and/or through the optional serial communications boards, to display rate in engineering units. In addition, average rate, which is a running average that works like a filter, is selectable to help eliminate noise, yet does not introduce a long delay for step change in the frequency input response. Gate times (averaging times) of 0.03, 0.1 and 3.0 seconds are software selectable. Calculations for gate times are done concurrently with averaging and as a result, any change in input frequency, even for a short duration, will be captured. In the rate mode, total can also be scaled in engineering units via a separate scale and offset and can be different from the engineering units selected for rate. Process time can also be selected and displayed HH:MM:SS format. When the optional analog to frequency input board is selected, the INF7 will accept 0-5V dc, 1-5 Vdc, 0-10 Vdc, 0-20 mA dc, and 4-20 mA dc inputs allowing the INF7 to operate as an Integrating Totalizer and Rate meter. This allows the user to display and control in linear flow applications. Because of the enhanced capabilities of the INF7, upon loss of power, grand total and the process time are stored into the non-volatile memory and restored with power-on without the need for battery back-up RATE METER/TOTALIZER with INTEGRAL SQUARE ROOT EXTRACTOR ("Q") When the optional analog input board is ordered, the INF7 can be configured to accept a signal, such as 4-20 mA dc, from any typical differential flow transmitter, and extract the square root of this signal providing a linear display in any engineering units desired. The rate is first measured and then the square root is digitally calculated insuring an accurate reading. By also adding the optional analog output board, the INF7 becomes an extremely affordable indicating totalizer and flow transmitter. Include the optional dual-relay output board and ON/OFF control is added. Now add an optional serial input/output board and the INF7 becomes a smart transmitter. The possibilities are endless. BATCH CONTROLLER ("B") The INF7 can also be programmed as a single input batch controller. It can simultaneously count the batch, number of batches completed, and the grand total of pulses received. In addition, it has an internal timer for process time measurement displayed in HH:MM:SS format. Any of the above mentioned functions may easily be displayed by pushing the front-panel pushbutton labeled display, without stopping the process. The batch counter can easily be programmed to count up from zero or down from a programmed preset. A batch, reset, at any time, starts the batch from the beginning and adds one count to the total number of batches. Resetting the batch controller can be automatic and the grand total is not affected. The number of times the batch can be repeated is also programmable up to 1 million. Because of the enhanced capabilities of the INF7, upon loss of power, batch, number of batches, grand total, and process time are stored into the non-volatile memory and restored with power. CLOCK ("C") The INF7 can be configured as a real time, 12, 24 or 100-hour clock, which displays in HH:MM:SS format. The time base is derived from the power line frequency, 50 or 60 Hz, which insures the accuracy. In addition, one open-collector output is standard for this mode and can be used for either alarm or control. Infinite capabilities are available for the end user with the addition of any one, or a combination, of the optional control or BCD outputs, analog output, or serial communication boards. Because of the modular design, the output boards can easily be installed, even at a later date, just in case your application needs change.
