The INFINITY® transmitter is another innovative addition to NEWPORT’s INFINITY series. This complete line of process transmitters is offered in 7 basic configurations consisting of Process, Strain gage, Temperature, Universal, Scale, Ratemeter/Totalizer or Batch Controller. A remote display is available for all models and doubles as a handheld programmer.

NEWPORT’s INFINITY® transmitter (INFX, INFZ) series offers unmatched versatility for any application, tough or easy. Each INFINITY® transmitter offers a wide range of inputs that can be configured to transmit your input signal in any engineering units desired with excellent accuracy. Each INFINITY® transmitter allows you to utilize the dual relay, 4 relay or BCD output, the isolated analog output, and either the RS-232 or RS-485 serial communications options. Your choices are limited only by your application!

The INFINITY® transmitter is the ideal stand-alone smart transmitter and, with its unmatched versatility, will enhance your capability to monitor and control your process. The INFINITY® transmitter is the choice for use as remote I/O when used with your data acquisition systems, PLCs or other computer controlled systems. All INFINITY® transmitters can be mounted on a DIN rail in your own enclosure or can be bulkhead mounted with the optional mounting hardware.

The NEWPORT INFINITY® transmitter allows you to select the communication output(s) you need for your individual applications such as isolated analog output, RS-232 or RS-485 or BCD. The optional serial communications allows you to monitor your process control and change parameters on line. Configuration and communications with your INFINITY® transmitter are easily accomplished via the optional remote display/programmer or RS-232 or RS-485 output options. Each transmitter offers 4 open-collector outputs, and you can easily add either the optional dual relay, 4 relay or the optional BCD output.

INFINITY® X (Z) HANDHELD PROGRAMMER/REMOTE DISPLAY
The INFINITY® X series of instruments offers a truly unique feature found in no competitive product. The optional hand-held programmer is both a convenient portable programmer and a complete, mountable, remote 6-digit display. You can buy any one programmer and program INFINITY® X transmitters all over your facility. You can use the very same option as a remote display. This is especially useful when space constraints prevent you from mounting a conventional full-size meter. This remote display not only gives you an accurate readout of your process value but also has four indicator lights giving you the status of each of the setpoints. The 14-segment LEDs give you easy-to-read alphanumeric characters. This feature, along with real word programming, makes an easy task of setting up your transmitter.

INFINITY® X (Z) FOR PROCESS
The INFINITY® X for process accepts a wide range of input signals from most process sensors such as pressure and temperature transmitters, pressure transducers, potentiometers, etc.

Standard Features Include:

• Input ranges from -500 mV to 100 Vdc, 0-20 mA & 4-20 mA
• 0.005% of reading accuracy
• Wide choice of outputs as 4-20 mA, 1-5 V, 0-10 V, RS-232 or RS-485
• Easy scaling for transmitting in any desired engineering units
• Smart filtering that detects the difference between line noise and a process change without compromising update speed
• Sensor excitation of 1 to 11 V or 24 Vdc
• Peak and valley memory
• Up to 13 readings per second
• DIN rail mounting

INFINITY® X (Z) FOR TEMPERATURE
The INFINITY® X for Temperature is easily configured to accept direct connection from a wide range of thermocouple, RTD or linear inputs such as 10 ohm copper RTDs.

Standard Features Include:
• Thermocouple types J, K, E, T, B, R, S, N and J DIN
• 2-, 3- or 4-wire 100 ohm platinum RTDs
• Accepts linear inputs from 0.6 to 1000 ohms including 10 ohm copper RTDs
• Wide choice of outputs such as 4-20 mA, 1-5 V, 0-10 V, RS-232 or RS-485
• Four open-collector outputs
• 0.01 resolution
• Smart filtering that detects the difference between line noise and a process change without compromising update speed

INFINITY® X (Z) FOR SCALE
The SCALE INFINITY® transmitter (INFXW) accepts a wide range of input signals from most process sensors such as pressure transducers, force strain gages, load cells, etc. The Scale Transmitter allows you to select the class required for your weighing applications, select standard tare, auto tare or sequential tare, select Units-of-Measure for transmission via the optional serial RS-232 or RS-485 communications options, select minimum and maximum capacity limits and scale divisions. Each unit when powered up or reset automatically performs an integral diagnostic check to ensure accurate operations. The Scale Transmitter is compatible with virtually any pressure sensor or load cell.

INFINITY® X (Z) FOR BATCH CONTROL
The Batch Controller INFINITY® transmitter (INFXB) is a single input unit that allows you to simultaneously count the batch, number of batches completed and the grand total of batches and transmit this data via the optional serial RS-232 or RS-485 output boards. Any of these parameters can be transmitted via the optional analog output board. This unit also includes an integral process timer that allows you to perform critical batch operations in real time with configuration and display in hours: minutes: seconds up to 99:99 99.

INFINITY® X (Z) FOR RATE/TOTALIZE
The Ratemeter/Totalizer INFINITY® transmitter (INFXR) allows you to receive pulse inputs from TTL levels to 240 Vac RMS or, with the addition of the optional analog input board, accept 0-20 or 4-20 mA dc inputs scale them to equal any engineering units you require and transmit those values via the optional serial RS-232 or RS-485 outputs. The analog output allows you to choose whether to transmit either the rate or the total. With the addition of the optional analog input board, you can configure your transmitter for integral square root extraction. Each unit has an integral process timer that can be configured as a 24-hour clock (99 99 99). The Ratemeter/ Totalizer/Transmitter will accept virtually any signal from your flow meters such as paddlewheel types, magnetic flowmeters, differential flow transmitters, etc.
